Arba Minch, a prominent city in the Gamo Zone of Southern Ethiopia, has generally been seen as a growing urban center, but like many expanding cities, it faces challenges related to petty theft and street crime. However, the escalation of a phone snatching into a fatal stabbing has prompted calls for increased security patrols during evening hours, particularly near religious and community centers.
The police department emphasized that such violent acts will not be tolerated and thanked the public for providing information that assisted in the swift arrest. The suspect is currently being held in detention as the legal process moves forward and formal charges are prepared. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station immediately to help maintain the peace and security of the city.
