It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dr. Dereje Zeleke, a respected professor at the Addis Ababa University Law School. Dr. Dereje, who was born in Addis Ababa and raised in France, had emerged as a prominent figure in the Ethiopian political landscape in recent years, known for his incisive critiques.
Over the past few years, Dr. Dereje had been struggling with an illness that had worsened, and he had been receiving treatment at various hospitals. Sadly, he passed away today, August 15, at around 4:00 PM.

The funeral service for Dr. Dereje Zeleke will be held tomorrow, August 16, at 9:00 AM at the St. Peter and St. Paul Church.
This is a truly saddening loss for the academic and political communities in Ethiopia.
