The Ethiopian Private Higher Education and TVET Institutions Association (EPHETVETA) has issued a formal call to all private higher education institutions across the country to participate in a high-level consultative meeting and capacity-building session. The event is designed to address sector-wide challenges and enhance the operational standards of private colleges and universities in Ethiopia.
The half-day program is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026 (Miazia 10, 2018, in the Ethiopian calendar). The session will begin at 8:00 AM (2:00 local time) and will be hosted at the Admas University campus, situated in the Bole Olympia area of Addis Ababa, directly across from the Dembel City Center.
In addition to the consultative discussions, the Association is prioritizing academic advancement through a formal "Call for Papers." Member institutions have been instructed to display the call for research papers prominently across their respective campuses. Academics and researchers are invited to submit their work to the Association via email at info@ephetveta.com. The Association noted that the specific dates and locations for the upcoming research workshop will be communicated in a subsequent announcement.
The gathering also serves as an administrative touchpoint. Current member institutions are urged to settle any outstanding membership dues and are required to present their payment receipts upon arrival at the venue. Furthermore, the Association has extended an invitation to non-member private institutions, encouraging them to join the organization to strengthen the collective voice of the sector and access various institutional benefits.
Private higher education plays a pivotal role in Ethiopia’s academic landscape, providing diverse learning opportunities and alleviating the pressure on public universities. However, the sector remains under close scrutiny regarding quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Meetings such as this one are essential for ensuring that private providers remain aligned with national educational goals and maintain high standards of instruction.
For further details or inquiries regarding the meeting and membership procedures, interested parties can contact the Association directly at 0944-35-29-39. This event marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to professionalize and support the growth of private higher education in Ethiopia.
